Today, in the age of the internet and where everything is online, it is easier than ever to make money online, even from the comfort of your own home. Whether you are looking to make some fast cash or building long-term, more sustainable income, you can undoubtedly find a way.
The truth is, making money online is not that difficult as some people make it seem. But don’t expect you will be rolling cash with a push of the button. It does take some discipline for it.
There are at least five ways you can make money online from home, and some will bring you results right away, boosting your income and helping you with your basic monthly necessities such as monthly rent or groceries, while from others you will reap the benefits later on.
What You Should Not Forget
But not the time!
That is why time is more important and valuable than money. You can’t recreate the time. Once it is spent, it is gone, forever.
So when you lack the luxury of free time, making money online can seem like mission impossible. How can you focus on that if you are stuck with your nine-to-five job which is taking most of your time of the day?
The stability of full-time work does provide some sort of security, and most will be able to sleep at night, not worrying what future may bring it doesn’t let you develop your online income strategy.
Passive Vs. Active
No matter which method you end up using to start generating an online income, you need to adjust the mindset to encourage you rather than discourage you.
As we mentioned at the beginning, there are two types of income: passive and active.
Active income is income that you earn as long as you are investing your time into it. Once you stop, income stop also. Consider this as a regular job. As long as you are working, you are getting paid. Once you stop working, salary will stop too.
Passive income is something where you invest your time once and start earning in the future for the same work you did in the past.
If you are serious about making money online as a full-time income, then you need to focus on passive income rather than on active income. Yes, the active income will help you pay the bills now. But it’s the passive income that will secure your future.
Since you have a limited amount of time, passive income should make up a large part of your work. This should be your goal. If you still are in doubt why is that, think about the next example.
What would you like more: Do the work one time and get paid repeatedly, or get paid every time you do the job? If you do things right, you will reap the benefits of your work later on, and you will continue to get paid in the future.
This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t work on active income. Rather, focus more on passive income. So let’s dig into both passive and active ways of making money online.
One of the best ways to plan for your passive income is making your own website and start to blog. Blogging is one of the easiest and most sustainable income sources. Once your blog SEO optimized (it is set up, you have found a niche, have the right content targeting the right audience, have a relevant offer), you can be making a nice amount of income from it.
You may think blogging is hard work, but once you understand the exact steps you need to take, it becomes much easier. Your decision starts with choosing a profitable niche and choosing the right domain name.
2. Affiliate Marketing
Don’t be scared of the word marketing. All you have to do is find a company that has their affiliate program which is relevant to your niche and your audience.
Sometimes, you will need an active website with some traffic flowing already through your website to get approved. And probably the biggest problem here is finding a company that is relevant to you, that have a good commission and have good products to offer.
You could spend hours, or even days to find something that you like to promote, and it can be a frustrating search. Luckily, there is a website that has combine almost 10,000 affiliate companies, all in one place. It is called Wealthy Affiliate, and you can read my review about it here.
3. Email Marketing
If you give them value rather than just throw a product with an affiliate link, you will build trust with your audience, and then you can throw one or two products that are relevant to them.
Thre are several ways to build your email list. You can offer free books for their signup, checklists, cheat sheets, PDF versions of something relevant, video training, etc.
4. Existing Websites
Here you can do both active and passive income. You could be selling some used items or creating your own digital product that can then be sold as merchandise. Here ware some of the sites you can leverage of.
- Craigslist – One of the most popular sites for people that are looking to make a bit of extra money online. You can sell your stuff, offer your service or rent out a spare room.
- Upwork – This is like an online marketplace for any professional service. You don’t even need your own website to start. All you need is to provide quality service at a reasonable price.
- Fiverr – Here you can also offer your services like gigs for as little as $5. You can also have upgrades on the price which will offer your customers more value for their money.
- Shutterstock – Are you good with photography? You could be selling your photos and make money that way. This is a great way to create a passive income as your photos can be bought by anyone.
- Flippa – If you have a touch for buying and selling than Flippa can just be for you. Here you can buy and sell websites for a profit. You will need to know, however, what you are doing, but you also could make a nice income by selling sites that already are making some money.
5. Sell Your Own Stuff
I would say this is one of the hardest ways to make money, because of all the things you have to set up first. You need a website and a hosting account. You will also need a merchant account like one from PayPal. After that, you need to design your site, build a sales funnel, and go some email marketing.
You will also need e-commerce software, worry about the warehousing, customer service, and refunds. As I said, this is serious business, but it can potentially produce significant profits.
No matter what method you choose to start making money online, you can either make active income or passive income. If you are interested in finding out more about passive income, be sure to check my FREE STEP BY STEP EARN MONEY ONLINE GUIDE.
